What I learned this year.

What I learned this year. It is November, a year has almost over now. “What did I learn this year?”, I ask myself. A dictionary says “learn” is “to get new knowledge or skill in a subject or activity.” Talking about the new skill, I learned a Generative AI a little. This technology is a skill that enables you to create pictures by providing AI with phrases called “prompts”. I don't know it's algolizm well enough, but they retouch many pictures and deform them to get the new image. Before using the generative AI, I had used an image searching tool. But it couldn’t use the image that has never existed in the world. As the name “generative” shows, this is a completely new invention.   However, this is still under developing invention. It sometimes produces physically impossible pictures like Escher’s arts. It produced the full moon picture with lots of stars in the sky. Stars and a full moon can’t exist at the same time in nature. "Garbage in, garbage out." This is not generative AI, but general programming. We need to be wise in using AI.

#今年学んだこと 11月になり、今年ももうすぐ終わりです。 「今年、私は何を学んだのだろうか？」と自問自答します。 辞書によると、「学ぶ」とは「ある科目や活動において、新しい知識やスキルを身につけること」だそうです。 新しいスキルといえば、生成AIについて少し学びました。 この技術は、「プロンプト」と呼ばれるフレーズをAIに与えることで、画像を作成できるスキルです。 そのアルゴリズムはあまりよく分かりませんが、多くの画像を加工したり変形させたりして、新しい画像を作り出しているようです。 生成AIを使う前は、画像検索ツールを使っていました。 しかし、それは世の中に存在しない画像を作り出すことはできませんでした。 「生成」という名前が示すように、これは全く新しい発明です。 しかし、これはまだ開発途上の技術です。 時には、エッシャーの絵のように、物理的に不可能な画像を作り出すこともあります。 満月とたくさんの星が同時に写っている画像を作り出したこともありました。 自然界では、星と満月が同時に存在することはありません。 「ゴミを入力すれば、ゴミが出力される」。 これは生成AIに限ったことではなく、一般的なプログラミングにも言えることです。 私たちはAIを使う上で、賢明である必要があります。
