International Coffee Day

International Coffee Day International Coffee Day is an occasion that is used to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage, with events now occurring in places around the world. In Japan, the Coffee Day was on October the first from 1983. Then, the official date was on October the first in 2015, as agreed by the International Coffee Organization launched in Milan. Though many countries, including Australia, Belgium, Honduras, Ireland, Slovakia, Sweden, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and Japan celebrate on October the first every year, many different days are celebrated all over the world, from January the third in Mongolia to December the tenth in Vietnam. Why did the International Coffee Organization decide it is on October the first? Because October the first is the harvest day in most countries and this date is thought to be the New Year’s Day for the coffee farmers.
