The Depersonalization of Kimono I was surfing the Internet and happened to find three photos of a girl wearing three different kimonos. The faces were covered for privacy reasons. When I saw the three kimonos, I couldn't tell the difference among these three Furisodes, kimonos with long sleeves. What I want to say is that a kimono is made to fit the body to the clothes, not the clothes to the body. The Japanese believe that the ideal body is cylindrical. Japanese kimonos are made of tan-mono, a standardized roll of cloth. So, we can’t make delicate adjustments for the personal body.
