Today’s coffee “Maragogype “ I drank Maragogype coffee made in Guatemala from Aurora Farm. Maragogype beans are surprisingly big, almost three times as big as regular beans. This bean's name came from the region's name of Brazil Bahia where the beans were discovered as a mutant of Typica in 1870. The beans were big and the trees were tall, so it was difficult to collect the beans. That made it difficult to become popular and even now the beans are seldom distributed into the world. However, as the taste was so good that the producing place has enlarged from Brazil to Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Guatemala. This time I could purchase the Guatemala production. I was so lucky to meet these beans today. How was the taste? The Internet says it is fruity and mild, but I tasted more sweetness.

本日のコーヒー「マラゴジッペ」 オーロラ農園のグアテマラ産マラゴジッペコーヒーを飲みました。 マラゴジッペの豆は、普通の豆の3倍近くもあるほど、驚くほど大きいです。 この豆の名前は、1870年にティピカの突然変異種として発見されたブラジルのバイーア州の地域名に由来しています。 豆が大きく、木も高かったため、豆の採取が困難でした。 そのため普及が難しく、現在でも世界に流通することはほとんどありません。 しかし、味が良かったため、生産地はブラジルからメキシコ、ニカラグア、コロンビア、グアテマラへと広がりました。 今回はグアテマラ産を購入できました。 今日はこの豆に出会えてとても嬉しかったです。 味はどうでしたか？ ネットではフルーティーでマイルドと書いてありましたが、私はもっと甘みを感じました。
