My Three-day Holiday 私の三連休

We are on a three-day weekend. 今3連休だ。 I'm staying with my elderly mother who is assistance required. 手助けが必要な高齢の母を過ごしている。 My father is in a nursing home near my mother's house, and I go to see him every other day. 父は母の家の近くの施設に入っていて、私は一日置きに父に会いに行っている。 I don't know how my husband is doing at our house. 夫は自分達の家で何をしているか知らない。 This morning, I went to a mall to buy some necessary things for my father. 今朝、父の必需品を買うために商業施設へ行った。 Black Friday sale has caught on in Japan, so the mall was really crowded. 日本にブラックフライデーのセールは根付いたので、モールはとても混んでいた。 I haven't enjoyed shopping since I decided to look after my parents. 両親の介護をすると決めてから、買い物を楽しんでいない。 I felt somehow isolated in the festive atmosphere. なんだかお祭り気分の中で、孤独を感じた。 When I got home, I did some needlework. 家に着いてから、針仕事をした。 My father is losing weight, so I needed to tighten his wait of underwear. 父は体重が減ってきていて、下着のウエストを詰めなくてはいけなかった。 I remembers what I had been doing this time of last year while sewing. 去年の今頃は何をしていたか、針仕事をしながら思い出した。 I worked at an airport with lots of my co-workers and I was always surrounded with foreigners. たくさんの同僚と仕事をして、いつも外国人に囲まれていた。 I try not to look back, but sometimes I feel sad, especially on the sunny holiday. 思い出さないようにしてるが、時々悲しくなる。晴れた休日には。
