Compassionate Person 慈悲深い人

There are many TV programs related to World War Two in order to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of war. 戦後８０年を記念して第二次世界大戦に関連した多くのテレビ番組がある。 The most memorable story for me was a woman who took care of more than one hundred war orphans at her house. 最も印象深かった話は、自宅で１００人以上の戦争孤児の世話をした女性だ。 Some photos were shown in the program. いくつかの写真が番組で紹介された。 I saw the woman arranging food on lots of plants for children while smiling. その女性が笑みを浮かべながら、たくさんの皿に食べ物を盛り付けている写真を見た。 Although after war, there were different kinds on ingredients, so she looked like a chef. 戦後にも関わらず、色んな種類の食材があって、彼女はシェフのようだった。 In the program, a man who was late his 80s who grew up her house answered the interview. 番組でその女性の家で育った８０歳後半の男性がインタビューに答えた。 He said that his favorite dish was mackerel cooked with miso(farmented soy beans). 彼はそこで育って、彼の好物は、その女性が作ったサバの味噌煮だったと言った。 I wondered where she got these ingredients at difficult time. 彼女は大変な時期にどうやってこれらの食材を得たのかと思った。 She must have provided all her wealth for children. 彼女は全財産を子供たちに与えたに違いない。 How noble she was. なんと高潔な人だったのだろう。 Her daughter inherited her mother's will and she still runs the facilities for underprivileged children. その娘が母の意思を次いで、恵まれない子供の為の施設をまだ経営している。 She is now 91 years old and she gets in touch with some children that her mother looked after. 彼女は９１歳で、母親が面倒をみた子供と連絡をとっている。 They looked like real older sister and young brother. 彼らは本当のお姉さんと弟のようだった。
