Meals Served at a Nursing Home 老人ホームでの食事

My father is in a nursing home. 父は老人ホームにいる。 When he moved in there, he couldn't adjust to the new environment, and he was losing his appetite. 移った時、新しい環境になじめず、食欲が落ちていった。 However, he is getting his appetite back. しかし、食欲をとりもどしてきている。 I brought some sweets and juice for him. 父にお菓子とジュースを持っていった。 Whenever he eats something at his room, I should see him chewing and swallowing food properly. 部屋で何かを食べるときは、彼がちゃんと噛んで飲み込むのを見なくてはいけない。 Recently he asked me to bring rice and dishes, my mother and I were worried that it may be a sign of dementia. 最近父はご飯やおかずを持ってくるように言ったので、母と私はそれは認知症の初期かと心配した。 However, we realized that the amount of food served at the facility was decreased due to the price hike. しかし、物価高で、施設で出される食事の量が減らされたことを知った。 It seems that my father is not able to get enough calories.  父は十分なカロリーが取れていないようだ。
