森の花嫁（3） この北欧の民話もようやく終わりを迎えました。 しかしながら、我々の人生という長い旅と同じように、物語の終わりは幸福な結末ではなく、「これから」の幸せな始まりです。 --------- 三男が自分の恋人の素敵なワイン作りや、機織り、そして料理の腕前を皆に披露した後、父親は三人の息子たちにこう言いました。「そろそろ皆の恋人を連れて、私に会いに来てくれ！」 三男は心の中で覚悟しておきます。「うちのネズミはいつも僕にとても優しかったんだ。だからこそ、彼女のことを恥じることはない！でも、もし兄たちは彼女がただのネズミだと知ったら、きっと大笑いしてるんでしょ！」 それにもかかわらず、ネズミは全く怖がっていませんでした。「礼儀正しく振る舞うように行かなきゃ！」とネズミは言いました。 三男がネズミを護衛しながら、乗せた馬車が川にかかる橋の上の真ん中あたりに差し掛かった時、ある男は馬車の中にいる小さなネズミをこっそりと覗き見しました。あまりにも馬鹿げていると感じた彼は、さりげなく馬車を押しのけました。すると突然、馬車も小さなネズミもそのまま川に落ちてしまいました。 「何をしたんだ！何をしたんだ！私の可哀想な小さな恋人を溺れさせてしまった！」と三男は叫びました。「今私は、あなたをどれだけ愛していたか分かった！」 三男が叫ぶと、ある魔法はすぐに解け、小さなネズミは王女としての姿を取り戻しました。三男とネズミ(今は王女)は帰国後、2人とも幸せに皆の祝福を受け、結婚式も挙げました。 その間、兄たちは皆それに深く憤慨してつぶやきました。「なんて不運なんだろう！もし、私たちの木々が森を指し示してくれていたら、私たちもお姫様を見つけられたのに！」 それなのに、彼らは間違っていました。これは木のせいではなく、かえって三男が生まれつき非常に素朴で純粋な気質を持っているので、たとえ相手が小さなネズミであっても、彼女に優しく接するだろう。 それ以来、 2人とも誠実で、心から深く愛し合い、幸せな人生を送っていました。 [cb]The Forest Bride (3) We have finally come to the end of this Nordic tale. When the coach in which the third son was escorting his mouse reached to the middle of the bridge over a river, a man took a sneak peek at the mouse in the coach. As he felt it too ridiculous, he shoved the coach aside casually; then suddenly, both the coach and the little mouse fell into the river on the spot. "What have you done! What have you done! You've drowned my poor little sweetheart!" cried the lad. "Now I know how much I loved you!" No sooner did the lad exclaim than the enchantment was broken; the little mouse thus reclaimed her identity as a princess. They both happily returned to the princess's kingdom for everyone's blessings and a wedding. In the meantime, the older brothers muttered resentfully: "Just our luck! If only our trees had pointed to the forest, we, too, should have found princesses!" But they were wrong. It wasn't because of the trees; it was because the youngest brother was innately so simple and pure that he was kind even to a little mouse. [cb]森林裡的新娘 (3) 終於來到這個北歐神話的 "完結篇"了。 但就像所有的人生旅程一樣, 故事的結尾並不是一個幸福的終結，而是 一個 "從今而後"幸福的開端。 --------- 在老三對大家展現了女友高超的釀酒、織品和美食才華之後, 父親對三個兒子說道:「是時候了, 你們也該把你們的女友帶來見我了。」 老三心裡想著:「我的老鼠一直都對我很好, 我才不會以她為恥。但我的兄弟肯定會笑死！如果他們知道她只是一隻老鼠。」 可這隻老鼠卻一點兒也不害怕。「我一定要表現得體的去！」 當老三護送他的老鼠乘坐的馬車來到河上的橋中央時, 一名男子偷瞄了一眼馬車裡的一隻小老鼠, 覺得可笑極了, 就順手推擠了一下馬車, 這時馬車和小老鼠當場就直接掉入河裡了。 「瞧瞧你做了什麼好事！瞧瞧你做了什麼好事！你把我可憐的小寶貝淹死了！」老三哭喊道。「現在我才知道我有多愛妳了！」 當老三一尖聲驚叫, 魔咒立刻就被打破了, 小老鼠因而恢復了公主的身份, 兩人開開心心地回到公主的王國, 接受眾人的祝福, 也舉行了婚禮。 這時, 老三的哥哥們喃喃自語憤恨地說:「運氣真差！要是我們的樹木也倒向森林就好了, 我們應該也能找得到公主！」 但他們弄錯了。這不是因為樹的緣故, 而是因為老三天性非常的淳樸, 就算對方只是一隻小老鼠, 他也都會對她很好。 後來, 他們倆過著幸福快樂的日子，因為他們對彼此忠誠，也能互相疼惜對方。 [/cb] [cb](完結)[/cb]
