Kasumi no Koromo
In the early spring, especially in the mountains at dawn, you can often see kasumi no koromo (霞の衣).
Since kasumi (霞) menas "haze," and koromo (衣) means "robe," the literal meaning of kasumi no koromo is "robe of haze."
This expression is a metaphor that likens the spread of haze in early spring to clothing, which is also known as a seasonal word for spring in Japan.
The way the robe of haze softly envelops the mountains is fantastic and beautiful, and symbolizes the arrival of spring. It is one of my favorite views.
