Okuman Chōja
People with a large amount of assets are called okuman chōja (億万長者) in Japanese. Oku (億) means "a hundred million," man (万) means "ten thousand," and okuman (億万) represents "a very large number" or "a very rich person." In addition, chō (長) means "superior," ja (者) means "person," and chōja (長者) represents "a person of high status" or "a wealthy person." Therefore, okuman chōja represents an enormously wealthy person. There is no specific amount of assets defined to be an okuman chōja, but it usually refers to a person who has assets in the hundreds of millions or more. I wish to become an okuman chōja.
