Recently I noticed that one of my favorite shirts has a hole in it, so I thought about what to do. I've been interested in sustainable clothes, so I decided to learn about sewing and embroidery and found a technique called "Sashiko." It's a technique to reinforce clothes, and with traditionally blue cloth and white thread, along with geometric patterns, it created striking stitching. It seems like it can be traced back to the Edo period, and was originally seen on farmer's clothes. I want to learn how to do it, but since I've never sewn before I think it might be too hard.
