文献を読む

日本語能力試験が迫っていて、私の語彙力を補うつもりで村上春樹の「海辺のカフカ」と太宰治の「人間失格」を買いました。その本を読むことで、もっと語彙力を磨いてほしいです。読んでしまう後に近代文学のような本を読みたいです。私は日本の文化を勉強したいだけなら多分英語で読めばもっと簡単にわかりますけど、日本語を上手にする以外にも、翻訳は結局解釈なことなので、元の日本語で読むと作家の意図をわかってくれると思います。

The JLPT is approaching, and in order to improve my vocabulary I bought Haruki Murakami's [i]Kafka on the Shore [/i]and Osamu Dazai's [i]No Longer Human[/i]. I want to polish my vocabulary by reading these books. After I finish, I want to read more modern literature. If I only wanted to study Japanese culture, it would probably be easier to read them in English, but aside from improving my Japanese, because translation is ultimately interpretation, I believe that if I read it in the original Japanese I'll understand the author's intent.
