The JLPT is approaching, and in order to improve my vocabulary I bought Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore and Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human. I want to polish my vocabulary by reading these books. After I finish, I want to read more modern literature. If I only wanted to study Japanese culture, it would probably be easier to read them in English, but aside from improving my Japanese, because translation is ultimately interpretation, I believe that if I read it in the original Japanese I'll understand the author's intent.
