I've wanted to read books about philosophy recently, so I've purchased some and done research on some philosophers. I started with Camus' The Stranger, Kafka's Metamorphosis, and Hermann Hesse's Steppenwolf, and after thinking about my own perception of the world, I wanted to research more. The result of that was that Existentialism is generally considered more literary, and that Philosophy generally focuses on other fields. Even so, because I've had an interest in Japanese religions and philosophy since high school, I wondered if Japan had Existentialist literature and what they thought of it as a philosophy, and so I learned about Nishida's Philosophy (also called the Kyoto School in America). It's a bit too complicated for me right now, but whether it's literature or philosophy, I want to read more and study cross-culturally.
