"Glory Back Home" is a movie depicting the life of Shintaro Yokoto, a former Hanshin Tigers player. He passed away in 2023 at the age of 28.  He entered the Tigers in 2014, and started playing in the first team, but in 2017 he suffered from a very serious headache and was diagnosed with a brain tumor.   Because he wanted to play again, he began training after undergoing six months of treatment at the hospital. In 2018, the Tigers still kept him on the team, but he decided to retire as his vision had deteriorated and he could no longer see well. On September 22, 2019, his retirement game took place. With two outs in the eighth inning, he took his position in center field. At that moment, the manager apparently prayed that the ball would not come his way. The ball flew toward center field. He caught it and immediately threw it home, getting the runner out. How was he able to throw it home despite his poor eyesight? Later, he said that perhaps God had rewarded him. Whenever I see the back-home scene, tears overflow. The movie is released on the 28 this month. An hour program related to the story was on TV yesterday afternoon, and my husband and I watched it together. We were in tears all the time while watching it.  I invited him to go to see the movie. At first, he declined, but then he said he would go wearing sunglasses and a mask.
