A Long Walk

As I wrote yesterday, I went shopping at the shopping street 10 minutes away on foot today. I usually go there by bike, so I didn't know how long it would take on foot.
Since most of the shops on the shopping street open at 10 AM, I left home around 9:30, expecting it would take 30 minutes.
I arrived there a few minutes before 10. I wanted to buy some vegetables, apples and pork. The vegetable store where I usually buy apples wasn't open yet, so I walked past it and went to a meat shop to buy pork. After that, I went to another vegetable store close to the meat shop. I wanted to buy a head of cabbage, but I thought my luggage would be too heavy when I got apples later, so I went back to the first vegetable store without buying the cabbage.
I bought six apples, a package of tomatoes, and a bag of carrots, and put them in my backpack. I turned back down the shopping street and headed home.
I stopped by the supermarket near my house to buy bread and some other things and finally got home.
I don't know why, but my left ankle started hurting around the time I left the supermarket. The pain stopped in a short while, but I guess it's because I had such a long walk for the first time in a long time. I should walk more.
Since an apple costs 185 yen at the supermarket where I went today, and it costs 198 yen at another supermarket, which is just a couple of minutes away, I was happy to be able to buy six apples for 98 yen each.
I was able to save about 600 yen.
