I'm not nearsighted, so I don't usually wear glasses, but when I read books or newspapers, I always need glasses. Two years ago, when I was not feeling well, I suddenly started seeing double objects in the distance, so I went to see an eye doctor and he told me to wear glasses. At that time, I was also told to get reading glasses made because the one that I was using fit anymore.
I went to an eyeglass shop and immediately ordered two pairs of glasses. I paid almost 40, 000 yen total for the two pairs. I don't know how many times I used them, but as my health improved, I no longer had double vision. I stopped using one pair of them. I also realized that the reading glasses were difficult to use. At just the right distance I could see the letters clearly, but when I moved a little closer or further away, it became harder to read and I felt a little dizzy. I also stopped using the reading glasses.
I bought a pair of reading glasses at a 100-yen shop, Seria. They work well on my eyes, so I've been using them. I sometimes need to read small letters while shopping, so whenever I go out, I put them in my bag. They only cost 100 yen, so I should buy another pair when I get to Seria next time.
By the way, a short while ago, I read an entry about corrective glasses. The author wrote "correction glasses" as the title. I wondered whether would be correct to call the glasses. I saw both on the internet, so I guess either one would be okay.
What surprised me was the amount of money for the glasses.
According to the author, the glasses cost over $5,000. I have never heard of such expensive glasses. I really wonder if it's the right amount.
