Bananas

Today, I learned an interesting fact about my city. According to the article on website, it has the highest banana consumption in all of Japan. Indeed, I buy some bananas twice a week myself. Fruit tends to be quite expensive in Japan. However, bananas are relatively cheap. You can get three for about 150 yen. That’s what no wonder they are very popular not only in my city but also in other parts of Japan. Then, I was also surprised that there is a banana processing company closes to my house. The company uses a traditional method to ripe bananas and sell them for 700 yen each at a luxury fruit shop in another city. I wanted to try it, but it is hard to step  into such a fancy store.
