Farewell Gift

My friend and I gave a farewell gift to our co-worker who retired from work today. He has been very nice to us for a long time, so it was a bit hard to say goodbye to him. When we gave it to him in the morning, he gave each of us letters as well. Since today was the end of the month, I didn’t even open the letter until lunch break. In the envelope, I found a sheet of paper and a much smaller envelope. First, I read the message which contained words of appreciation. Then, I opened the smaller one. I was surprised that he gave me a prepaid gift card. I didn’t expect to get the gift from him, so I regretted not giving him a more expensive gift.
