Once upon a time, a traveler was hurried home in a forest.
Suddenly, he ran into a ferocious tiger.
Chased by the tiger, he got lost and ended up being on the edge of a cliff.
He saw a pine on a the cliff and climbed up the thee, but the tiger also did so to claw at him.
Between a rock and a hard place, he rappelled down a vine dangling from the pine.
Then, he looked down, and there were three venomous dragons in the choppy ocean, waiting to devour him.
Suddenly, he found a black rat and a white rat were gnawing at the vine.
In the critical moment, honey from a hive by the root of the vine was dribbling down along the vine.
And the traveler started to lick the honey and forgot the dire situation he was in.
This is a Buddhist fable.
The tiger represents death or illness.
The three dragons symbolizes human's three intrinsic sins : hatred, greed and ignorance.
The rats represent day and night, which implies the flow of time is gnawing at our life.
The honey means all kinds of fun, which is delicious and lethal.
