Back in the days, collective punishment, which has long been abolished, was imposed in Taiwan's military bases.
If a soldier makes a mistake, his comrades in the same platoon would also get punished.
Back in 1999, there was a sailor who couldn't fit in well with the military life and escaped the camp many times.
Whenever he did so, other fellow sailors who lived in the same room with him also get punished for neglecting him.
So they bullied him, which led to a vicious circle.
One day, the sailor' body was found off the coast in Xiamen, which is 200KM away from Taiwan.
His body was immediately cremated due to local regulation without autopsy.
Although his desperate mother suspected that his fellow sailors murdered him, without autopsy, no one can bring justice to her son.
This case has not been solved until now.
