I had not been very motivated to be active on Nyan-8 recently for several reasons, primarily because I realized that a Japanese user blocked me while I was checking entries. I usually review corrections made by other Japanese people, and I eventually noticed a discrepancy between the number of corrections visible on the main page and those actually applied to posts. Since most active members on this platform are familiar to me so far, I had little trouble identifing who blocked me. To be honest, this situation feels very uncomfortable for me because when browsing my friends’ posts, I can’t see their corrections and comments even though I know they’re there.
In situations like this, I always start wondering why this happens. What came to my mind is that they sometimes point out corrections made by Japanese users that seem wrong to them, which has happened to me before but I disagreed with them. While I don’t know the true reasons behind this, their behavior seems little sense to me. That’s probably because it feels like they blocked me just because they didn’t like my way of correcting or thinking.
When discussing this with a friend, they mentioned that there are ‘trigger-happy’ people (those who are quick to take offense and act on it). I assume the person might be ‘trigger-happy’ in some ways. Anyway, I’ve decided to convince myself that this was an opportunity to learn a new term.
