My husband and I are planning to visit London after my undecided business trip to Cambridge this year. It is quite annoying that the whole plan is still in the air because there are many details in the project undetermined. As long as the date for the business trip can’t be settled down, my husband can’t book his flight, and we also can’t reserve the hotels. Though I can understand there is often some uncertainty while the project goes, I still hope it could be finalized soon.
I found the prices are really high in London. I think I have to double the budget for the hotels. When we traveled in Asia, we usually budget 35 USD per person each night, but it seems we’ll need 85 USD to get a room with similar quality. The price of transportation is also high. It made me feel that the recent price rise of train here was nothing. I think that’s partly because there is also a 2.5-fold difference on the basic salary. The higher salary supports the higher price, and the higher price leads to higher basic salary. We will need to save more for this trip these months, or we won’t have enough margin. I don’t like to budget too tightly because there are always surprises. Hope we could enjoy this trip.
