Have you ever met a superficial person? Of course you have! We all have a relative, friend, or acquaintance like that. My question to you is if you’ve ever taken the time to understand such a person.
Why would you do that?
Because it matters! It matters if you want to understand the people around you better. It matters even more if you want to understand yourself better. By understanding the superficial people in your life, you become more aware of the bad luck that such people bear.
The Essence of a Superficial Person
... or better, the lack of essence of such a person.
You see, a superficial individual doesn’t carry with him (or her) anything of relevance. The superficial person judges and makes decisions on the spot.
When you walk into the room, the superficial individual will look at you from head to toe. They will analyze you (superficially) and judge you on the spot. If your shoes are not to this person’s liking; if your pants are not well taken care of; if your shirt doesn’t match your tie, you have already fallen in the eyes of the superficial individual.
It doesn’t matter what you do, who you are, or what you think. To the superficial person, the first impression reveals everything about you and your life. It isn’t fair, but the superficial person’s judgment is never fair. You are put in a box, and you will never be able to leave that box.
While this all may seem unfair, you should consider what it means to the superficial person. What does it mean to the superficial person? Bad luck—a lot of bad luck.
The Unlucky Life of a Superficial Person
Life is not always what it seems. It carries more substance, and it has essence—clearly more essence than that of a superficial person.
A first impression should never be a final judgment. This is what the superficial individual doesn’t understand (or doesn’t want to understand).
Causes and effects govern life. It comes with chains of events that require our attention. In this world, happiness cannot be obtained through appearances and first impressions. That would be a shallow world to live in. More than that, we would not be making the best decisions for our lives.
And this is just what the superficial person does. This is how such a person does more harm than good to his or her life.
Judging a person by appearance, by first impressions, can mean missed opportunities. On the same note, judging a person by appearance only can mean mayhem and havoc. What the superficial person does not seem to understand is that the wolf never shows himself as a wolf, just as the Devil never reveals himself in his grotesque appearance.
A wolf will always appear in sheep's clothing to the superficial person. Also, the Devil will always appear as a seductive woman rather than a hideous creature from Hell. It’s just how life works.
The superficial person will claim bad luck and never take responsibility for something bad happening to him or her. However, what this person may claim to be bad luck is only the consequence of judging people and situations based on first impressions and nothing more profound, of more essence.
