New Hampshire

The state is named New Hampshire after the Hampshire County in England. New Hampshire is one of the thirteen original colonies. It is the only state among the 50 states in the United States that does not require drivers to have seat belts. The state’s motto is “Live Free or Die.” It is located in New England at the extreme northeastern corner of the country.  It is bounded to the north by the Canadian province of Quebec, to the east by Maine, to the south by Massachusetts. The first wind farm in the US was constructed on Crotched Mountain in southern New Hampshire in December 1980. The wind farm consisted of 20 wind turbines. There is no tax on earned income in New Hampshire.
