Land of Ice and Fire

There are no roads from mainland Russia that lead to Kamchatka, so the best way to get there is by airplane. The Russian Far East has a harsh climate and cannot be effectively developed. Kamchatka Peninsula is perhaps one of the most beautiful and wild places in Russia. The sea battered land dotted with over 160 volcanoes, it's basically Russia's version of Iceland, mixed with a little bit of Alaska. The largest active volcano on the peninsula is impressive 4750 meters tall. Although covered with snow and ice, the surface is hot, and hot springs are constantly spewing out. On Kamchatka, there are more bears than humans. There are many bears coming to look for food. Because bears like to eat a lot of grass and wild fruit. This is a no-go area for humans on Earth. With the exception of a few scientists, the Russian government does not allow ordinary people to visit. Russia is the largest country in the world, and most Russian people live in the European parts of the country.
