Sakhalin Island belongs to Russia.
It is double the size of Taiwan.
The Japanese call it [cb]"Karafuto", [/cb]because it was under Japanese rule for about 40 years.
So nowadays there are Japanese ruins on Sakhalin.
A lighthouse was built on the island during the Japanese rule.
Today, the lighthouse has long been abandoned, and many seagulls fly above it.
The lighthouse has nine floors and there was a diesel compartment on the basement floor.
On the first floor there was the kitchen, and on the second floor there was the radio room, control room and washroom.
On the third, the fourth and the fifth floor there were living rooms that can accommodate 12 people, and the generator on the top floor wasn't removed.
Since 1990, there have been no workers on duty at the lighthouse.
Despite the severely damage, many unorganized visitors still come to visit the Aniwa Lighthouse.
Seagulls have built their nests on this lighthouse, and the Aniwa Lighthouse has been completely abandoned.
[cb]It's a desolate place, but absolutely incredible beauty.[/cb][cb]
[/cb]No matter where I go, I like to explore historical sites.
These ancient buildings seem to be telling us a story.
