Is Japanese really so difficult? Part 139 I came across an interesting sentence on YouTube again. Some people post a video on YouTube when they find an interesting or a funny thread/topic on the textboard. Have you ever heard of a textboard called 5channel (5ch)? It used to be called 2channel (2ch). This time, the video that I watched is about a trip that is posted on the 2ch. A person who was in Osaka suddenly thought that they wanted to go to Hokkaido by a ferry in the evening. They got on the ship at Maizuru in Kyoto for Otaru in Hokkaido. It arrived at Otaru the next night. They posted something on the textboard while connecting the internet in the ferry. A thread said "昼飯もフェーリーで食った." This sentence means "I had lunch in the ferry too." This sentence sounds strange to me because I felt that it didn't go with that situation. There could have the other meanings like "I had dinner/breakfast in the place expect for the ferry", but that's strange because the ferry didn't stop by any ports. I tried to post about this sentence on this site two days ago, but while I read this sentence many times, I stared to think that I might be wrong, so I post about this nuance on a Q&A site before posting this site. Six people answered:  one said "I understand what you wanted to say, but this sentence doesn't have the nuance" and the others said "No, this sentence doesn't have the nuance." lol When I read this sentence, I felt like that it has the same nuance of the following sentences ・I'm watching the TV that turned on/turned on the car. ・I'm driving a car that turned on the ignition/turned on the ignition car. ・I'm reading a opened novel in the library. ・I'm walking using my legs. ・I went to Japan on the earth. Does it make sense?
