I Was a Shoplifter or I Was Almost a Shoplifter

There was a convenience store called "FamilyMart" near the company I used to work. I went there to buy some lunch sometimes. One day, when I bought something to eat and drink, I put them in the shopping basket, but I didn't know why、but I put a small size of vegetable juice under my armpit. When I paid money, I forgot putting the juice under my armpit and I didn't pay for it. The moment I left the store, I remembered the juice under my armpit.  I quickly went back to the cash resister and paid money for it while saying "I'm so sorry about that." Don't worry about me. They didn't call a police officer.  Strictly speaking, I was a shoplifter because I left the store without paying money. Have you had the same experience like this?
