Yesterday, I was in london for a medical sciences event, and after it finished, i decided to go to the poetry library. but my smartphone had run out of power, and i didnt remember the way, so i had to rely on the directions and knowledges of strangers.
people sometimes say they long for a world with no more smartphones, but the truth is the world has evolved to smartphones. for example, when i asked for maps at receptions, they often didn't have them. and when i asked people for directions, they looked at me with istrust.
but, the most annoying thing was trying to get the train. in england, we store all tickets and railcards online. i couldnt even see where failures and closures were on the underground. despite this, i had a fun time trying to navigate on my own lol.
