岩槽: grooves in the rock called fluting, made by a Native American Indian person in the ancient past; this might look like an ordinary rock, but careful examination shows it is a carefully made stone tool that fits the human hand perfectly.

刀刃: the blade or sharp edge; this photo and the next are not a stone tool, but a chip of rock created when shaping a stone tool like the one above. Making one stone tool creates many chips. This is sharp enough to cut my arm with.

上凿出: chipped out (the word 凿 means chisel, but in this case, rocks were used to chip other rocks); this is the same chip, viewed from the flat side.
缺口: gap (here it is used to say the person chipped the stone to create a gap making a sharp edge)
使刀刃锋利: literally “make the blade sharp” or we would say “to sharpen the blade”
