As often happens, my English version has more details than the Chinese version.
I worked for the US Forest Service from 1990 to 2008, so I know the forest very well. I started work on the Sylamore District, which is named after a creek, North Sylamore Creek, which is named after a Native American Indian (not an Asian Indian).
Today, I wanted to take a long hike with Sweet Pea (one of our dogs) on the Sylamore District of the Ozark National Forest. We hiked from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, covering six miles or about ten kilometers). I plan to write more about today's hike later.
I used flea and tick repellent; about four or five ticks bit me and several more were seen crawling on me. I picked them all off. You should not put insect repellent on dogs because it is poisonous and they will try to lick it off (I didn't lick my pants!). At home, I knew I needed to check Sweet Pea for ticks and found about 50 ticks had already bitten her or were crawling through her fur. We have medicine for dogs that the veterinarian (doctor for animals) prescribed (recommended as a doctor).
Since we hiked one way, from Cole Fork to Barkshed Campground, I left my truck and Cole Fork. My wife picked us up at Barkshed late in the day, and drove me to my truck so I could hike in one direction (not out and back). Everyone, including my wife, went to sleep quickly (except me, so far) and will will all sleep well tonight! I'll post other photos and more of the story tomorrow or within a few days..
